About NSA
Our story begins with the founding of See Neefus, Inc. by Mr. J. Furman Neefus, in 1926. The agency was a family owned and operated Independent Agency. Mr. Neefus’ grandson, Jeffrey F. Kaytis, is one of our Senior Partners today. In January of 1999, See Neefus, Inc. merged with Val Stype & Sons, Inc.; also a family owned and operated Independent Agency, founded in 1961 by Valentine Stype. Mr. Stype’s son, John V. Stype, CIC, is one of our Senior Partners today. The Three Village Bennett Agency, owned by Virginia McGrath, became part of the Neefus-Stype Agency family, in 2008. Ms. McGrath, Senior Partner of NSA will continue to operate the Three Village Bennett Agency in Port Jefferson in an effort to better serve our clients. NSA purchased the Joseph L. Townsend Agency of Greenport, in 2009. The J.L. Townsend office now operates from the NSA office in Southold. As an Independent Insurance Agency, we are able to represent a number of Insurance Companies. NSA has established and maintained a preferred agent status with a majority of our Companies. We select our Companies based upon their financial status, service and products. This allows us to offer each client the most comprehensive and competitively priced program for each individual need.
